Last May 5th came into effect the programs put in place by Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the IDAE (Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía) designate for buildings refurbishment, transport, PYMES and big companies from industrial sector and street lighting installations.
Those programs will receive a budget of 168 M€ that will be included within Plan Nacional de Acción de Eficiencia Energética 2014-2020 framework to allow Spain achieve saving objectives derived from Directive 2012/27/EU.
The application form to request the grants may be delivered from May 6 2015 to May 5 2016, always taking into account that the budget have not been already exhausted.
Buildings refurbishment
Grants for buildings refurbishment will have 75 M€ budget to encourage renovation in buildings and residences to improve energy efficiency and savings. This grant is included in the program PAREER-CRECE, which had a previous provision of 125 M€.
Transport
The grant program for transport will have 8 M€ budget and is destined to a more efficient use of means of transportation, where will be selectable transport plans for company works, administration improvements of goods and passengers fleets, and organization of courses of effective driving for industrial and commercial vehicles.
PYMES and big companies
On PYMES and big companies, the grant program will be destined to accomplish the article 8 of Directive 2012/27/EU. This article forces to perform an energy audit before December 5th 2015 to all companies under the following circumstances:
- Companies with more than 250 employees and invoicing annually more than 50 million euros.
- Companies with a general annual balance of 43 million euros or more.
To facilitate the accomplishment of the Directive, the grants destined will have 49 M€ budget obtained from Fondo Nacional de Eficiencia Energética, and will be selectable all the actuations destined to improve the energy efficiency through the substitution of technologies and processes, and the deployment of an energy management system (EMS).
Only companies with an energy management system (EMS), certified by an independent organism and adapted for European internationals regulations, already deployed will be exempted from the obligation to perform energy audit.
Street lighting installations
Finally, the grant program for street lighting installations will have 36 M€ budget.
