As we announced in previous blog entries, we are performing a full integration between eManager and Node-RED software, creating customized nodes for each of our expansion modules. Today we present two new modules which are already integrated in Node-RED: the module of 5 Digital inputs and 2 Power relays and the Supercap (battery) module.
5 Digital inputs and 2 Power relays (Datasheet)
eManager’s 5 digital inputs and 2 Power relays module allows to individually manage each input/relay or to manage all the inputs/relays at the same time.
It allows to configure the following features on the Node-RED module:
- Time to validate a pulse
- Get the status for one, some or all the digital inputs
- Get the pulse counter for one, some or all the digital inputs
- Reset the pulse counters
- Set the pulse width for each relay
- Activate or deactivate one, some or all the relays
- Get the current relays status
Furthermore, you will be able to work in polling or event mode. In polling mode, user starts the flow and asks for data when he needs it, while in event mode user configures certain condition when he wants to be notified and it is the module that notifies him when it has been met. Those conditions include an input status change or detecting that a pulse counter limit has been exceeded.
Supercap (battery) (Datasheet)
eManager’s Supercap (battery) module notifies when there is a power source change at your device. This status change is produced when the device needs to switch power to the supercap (battery) module because the external supply has failed.
This Node-RED node has one output which notifies the exact moment when the eManager’s power supply switches from an external supply (AC or DC) to the supercap.
As a reminder, the supercap module has an average battery lifetime of 2 minutes. It has been designed to detect an electrical failure and generate an alarm notification.
Combine them to create your IoT application
eManager is more than an IoT controller; eManager is an industrial modular device that allows you to create customized IoT applications in a graphic, fast and simple way.
With eManager and Node-RED you will be able to create an infinity amount of applications, such as relating an analog value to an actuation on a relay, automating an activation of a digital output depending on a pulse counter value, generating an alarm in case of electrical failure…. You just need to combine digital inputs, analog inputs, relays and supercap modules to be able to offer smart solutions perfectly matched with each project needs.
In addition, Node-RED dashboard will allow you to display all the information of your IoT application in real-time.
